Gartner Inc., the industry analyst firm, has recognised Avolution as a leader in its Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools.
Recognition was given to Avolution for its ABACUS toolset which supports architects and strategist as they manage complex business-critical systems and data both day-to-day and for transformation projects and compliance missions.
Gartner explains that Magic Quadrant Leaders “execute well against their current vision and are well positioned for tomorrow.” Analysts report that “In a world of ever-increasing change, organisations need accurate answers more quickly. EA tools need to support EA and TI practitioners by delivering those answers faster. Whether through easier integration with third-party products or persona-based interfaces, tools need new capabilities to reduce the time it takes to deliver business results.”
Avolution’s Dr Tim O’Neill said: “We’re proud to be recognised as a Leader and believe Avolution’s position reflects our efforts in supporting our customers and responding to the requirements of enterprise architects. We feel it also validates our determination to provide a tool which streamlines collaborative IT planning for global teams who manage vast volumes of enterprise data.
O’Neill continues, “ABACUS is designed to provide a low-maintenance addition to the enterprise-management tool stack, bringing expert modelling, diagramming, roadmapping, analytics and data visualisation functionality to boost the business insights which can be gained from enterprise data.
“Architects can easily integrate data from common sources such as Excel, Visio and SharePoint within ABACUS, and can either present this using our inbuilt reporting and dynamic data visualisation options, or export to standard BI platforms. The need for consultant support is minimal, compared with other tools, and these data-integrations allow teams to hit the ground running.”
Avolution was the first EA vendor to use a graph database, which enables excellent adaptability and speed versus traditional database approaches. Current innovation focuses include algorithms to calculate enterprise metrics such as cost, risk, performance and reliability, server-side simulations and dynamic data visualisations.
In January 2017, ABACUS received the highest product score for the Speeding Time to Value Use Case, and the second highest score in the Creating Signature-Ready Actionable Deliverables Use Case, two of three Use Cases in the January 2017 Gartner report “Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Architecture Tools”.
ABACUS is currently available for both for on-premise, cloud (as a brower-based web-app), or hybrid deployments.
